The Elicitor welcomes essay or reflection submissions from guest contributors similarly passionate about the study of relevant regional issues and the practice of Western-Russian-Eurasian relations. Those interested in submitting an essay or reflection should send an email to the following address and adhere to the submission guidelines below. All other inquires may also be sent to info@elicitor.org.

Essay Submissions

  • Be approximately 800 to 1200 words, single-spaced in 12 point font, and .docx format.
  • Address a topic relevant to Europe and Eurasia in a more formal academic and journalistic style.
    • Examples: policy prescriptions to improve relations, Ukraine conflict, U.S.-Russian competition in pivot to Asia.
  • Include 3-4 sentences of author biographical information at end of piece.
  • Contain adequate sourcing in the form of hyperlinks.
  • Refer to recent essay publications for additional guidance on topic selection, accepted formatting, and citation standards.

Reflection Submissions

  • Be approximately 500 to 750 words, single-spaced in 12 point font, and .docx format.
  • Address a topic relevant to Europe and Eurasia in a more informal personal and descriptive style.
    • Examples: study abroad experience, connections to Ukraine conflict, general impressions of the “Other.”
  • Include 3-4 sentences of author biographical information at end of piece.
  • Contain adequate sourcing in the form of hyperlinks.
  • Refer to recent reflection publications for additional guidance on topic selection, accepted formatting, and citation standards.
